Black Galaxy questions
Is Black Galaxy in stock as a full slab?
Black Galaxy is sold as full slabs through our West Allis slab gallery near Milwaukee, where you can see the complete piece — and how the pattern runs across it — before you commit. Stock moves week to week, so check live inventory or call 414-998-0404 to confirm whether Black Galaxy is on the racks now.
Does Black Galaxy need to be sealed?
Yes. Black Galaxy is natural stone and porous, so your fabricator applies a penetrating sealer after installation and it is refreshed periodically. Granite tolerates heat well; a trivet under very hot pans still protects the sealer and prevents thermal shock at the edges.
What is Black Galaxy best used for?
Kitchen countertops, islands, bar tops, outdoor kitchens and fireplace surrounds. Granite's heat tolerance makes it a common choice near the cooktop.
Can I buy Black Galaxy if I already have a fabricator?
Yes. Come to the gallery, tag the granite slab you want, and your fabricator collects it. We also sell directly to fabricators, builders and remodelers across the Milwaukee area on wholesale terms.
What is the difference between Black Galaxy and Absolute Black granite?
Both are black granites from India. Black Galaxy is mostly black with small copper-, gold- or white-coloured flecks; Absolute Black is a solid black with a very consistent colour and texture. Choose Black Galaxy for a light speckle and Absolute Black for a plain, even surface.

Black Galaxy in Kitchens and Bathrooms
Three design visualizations showing how Black Galaxy reads at room scale: as a full-height kitchen backsplash, on a bathroom vanity, and on a waterfall-edge island. Each one was generated from the slab image on this page.
Please note: these three images are digital visualizations, not photographs of completed installations. Natural stone varies slab to slab — check live inventory or view your piece at the West Allis showroom.
