Does Absolute Black need to be sealed?
Yes. Absolute Black is natural stone and porous, so your fabricator applies a penetrating sealer after installation and it is refreshed periodically. Granite tolerates heat well; a trivet under very hot pans still protects the sealer and prevents thermal shock at the edges.
What is Absolute Black best used for?
Kitchen countertops, islands, bar tops, outdoor kitchens and fireplace surrounds. Granite's heat tolerance makes it a common choice near the cooktop.
Can I buy Absolute Black if I already have a fabricator?

What is the difference between Absolute Black and Black Galaxy granite?
Both are black granites from India. Absolute Black is a solid black with a very consistent colour and texture; Black Galaxy is mostly black with small copper-, gold- or white-coloured flecks. Choose Absolute Black for a plain, even surface and Black Galaxy for a light speckle.
