Delicatus

Delicatus is a granite from Brazil with a white to cream ground crossed by dense clusters of dark grey and black crystals, many of them long and needle-like.

 Characteristics

  • On a full slab, the dark crystal clusters gather in broad vertical and diagonal bands, with some dark brown areas, so the whole slab reads as bold black and white. Close up, the lighter areas show scattered black needles and feathers on white. It is suitable for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanity tops, backsplashes and other home surfaces.
  • Because the dark bands can be large, decide with your fabricator where they fall on each piece, and choose from the full slab rather than a small sample.
  • Like other granites it handles heat well but is porous, so have it sealed after fabrication and reseal when water stops beading on the surface.

    Heat resistance

Granite tolerates heat well; a trivet under very hot pans still protects the sealer and prevents thermal shock at the edges.

    Delicatus questions

Is Delicatus in stock as a full slab?

Delicatus is sold as full slabs through our West Allis slab gallery near Milwaukee, where you can see the complete piece — and how the pattern runs across it — before you commit. Stock moves week to week, so check live inventory or call 414-998-0404 to confirm whether Delicatus is on the racks now.

Does Delicatus need to be sealed?

Yes. Delicatus is natural stone and porous, so your fabricator applies a penetrating sealer after installation and it is refreshed periodically. Granite tolerates heat well; a trivet under very hot pans still protects the sealer and prevents thermal shock at the edges.

What is Delicatus best used for?

Kitchen countertops, islands, bar tops, outdoor kitchens and fireplace surrounds. Granite's heat tolerance makes it a common choice near the cooktop.

Can I buy Delicatus if I already have a fabricator?

Yes. Come to the gallery, tag the granite slab you want, and your fabricator collects it. We also sell directly to fabricators, builders and remodelers across the Milwaukee area on wholesale terms.

    What color is Delicatus granite?

Delicatus has a white to cream ground with dense clusters of dark grey and black crystals, often gathered in bold vertical or diagonal bands, with some dark brown areas.
