Calacatta Tan

Calacatta Tan is an engineered quartz with a white base and long, branching veins in a soft warm grey, sometimes called greige. Despite the name, the background is white, not beige; the warmth is in the veins, which lean a little warmer than plain grey.

In the slabs we photographed, the main veins sweep diagonally across the slab with thinner branches running between them. Our inventory lists it as a polished 3 cm slab. Slabs follow the same engineered design, but the vein layout shifts along the length of each slab, so decide with your fabricator which section goes on an island or a waterfall edge.

 Characteristics

  • Look: White base, soft warm-grey (greige) veins and a glossy polished face.

  • Veins: Long diagonal veins of medium width with fine branches, easy to see across a room but light in color.

  • Layout: On long runs, ask to see how the diagonal veins will meet at each seam before the slabs are cut.

  • Heat: Hot cookware can scorch or crack the resin, so set pans on a trivet rather than directly on the surface.

  • Care: It never needs sealing. Everyday cleaning is warm water and a little dish soap; skip abrasive pads, which can dull the polish.

    Calacatta Tan questions

Is Calacatta Tan in stock as a full slab?

Calacatta Tan is sold as full slabs through our West Allis slab gallery near Milwaukee, where you can see the complete piece — and how the pattern runs across it — before you commit. Stock moves week to week, so check live inventory or call 414-998-0404 to confirm whether Calacatta Tan is on the racks now.

Does Calacatta Tan need to be sealed?

No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so Calacatta Tan never needs sealing. Clean it with warm water and a mild detergent; use a trivet under hot pans, because sustained heat can damage the resin binder.

What is Calacatta Tan best used for?

Kitchen countertops, islands, bathroom vanities, backsplashes and commercial surfaces. We do not recommend engineered quartz outdoors, because UV exposure can fade the resin over time.

Can I buy Calacatta Tan if I already have a fabricator?

Yes. Come to the gallery, tag the engineered quartz slab you want, and your fabricator collects it. We also sell directly to fabricators, builders and remodelers across the Milwaukee area on wholesale terms.

Each one was generated from the photograph of the actual slab on this page, so the natural stone pattern, colour and finish match the stone we stock in West Allis.
