Calacatta Atlas

Calacatta Atlas is an engineered quartz with a white base crossed by wide, soft grey veins that run diagonally, with thin darker lines branching off them. The wide veins are pale and softly blurred at the edges, while the thin branches are sharper and darker, which gives the surface a layered look.

In the slab image on this page the veins are grey only; there are no gold tones. It has more movement than a quiet white quartz, so it works well where the countertop is meant to be the focal point, such as a kitchen island. Slabs follow the same engineered design, so matching several pieces is easier than with natural marble.

 Characteristics

  • Look: White with wide, soft grey diagonal veins and fine darker branches.

  • Vein direction: The main veins run on a diagonal, so decide with your fabricator which way they should run on each piece before cutting.

  • Waterfall edges: The wide veins can be carried over a mitred waterfall edge if the pieces are cut from next to each other on the slab.

  • Heat: Quartz resists stains and everyday scratches, but its resin can be marked by a hot pan, so use a trivet.

  • Cleaning: It never needs sealing; wipe it with warm soapy water and skip abrasive pads, which can dull the finish.

    Calacatta Atlas questions

Is Calacatta Atlas in stock as a full slab?

Calacatta Atlas is not currently stocked; it is available to order. Call 414-998-0404 for lead time, or check live inventory for a similar colour available now.

Does Calacatta Atlas need to be sealed?

No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so Calacatta Atlas never needs sealing. Clean it with warm water and a mild detergent; use a trivet under hot pans, because sustained heat can damage the resin binder.

What is Calacatta Atlas best used for?

Kitchen countertops, islands, bathroom vanities, backsplashes and commercial surfaces. We do not recommend engineered quartz outdoors, because UV exposure can fade the resin over time.

Can I buy Calacatta Atlas if I already have a fabricator?

Yes. Come to the gallery, tag the engineered quartz slab you want, and your fabricator collects it. We also sell directly to fabricators, builders and remodelers across the Milwaukee area on wholesale terms.
